Chalet Chef Course
Our 'Chalet Chef' cookery course has been designed in collaboration with major Ski Holiday companies and is specifically suitable for those wishing to gain the skills required for employment in ski or summer chalets.

Course Overview
The course does not assume any previous cookery knowledge or experience, and is designed to cover the essential requirements to enable students to provide good quality cuisine for small groups.
Students prepare, cook, present and eat a three course lunch each day. They each prepare a cake or paté in the afternoon to take home.
Course Content
- Preparing, under tuition, a range of attractive recipes
- Practical tuition of cookery techniques
- Budgetary control (often the responsibility of the chalet chef)
- How to deal with problems that may arise
- Safety and Hygiene
- Menu planning and time planning
- Food presentation skills and garnishes
- A file of recipes and useful information for chalet hosts
Certificates
Students who complete the course, and meet the required standards, receive a Chalet Chef certificate, and a list of recommended ski chalet operators.
Students may sit the Basic Health and Hygiene Certificate at an adult education centre near their home.

Fees
The course is non-residential and costs £420.00 per person inclusive of all ingredients and equipment.
We can offer B&B accommodation at Glenbervie House at £25.00 per night, and are able to provide a list of B&B accommodation available locally.
Payment of a non-refundable £100 deposit will reserve you a place on one of these courses. The balance is due 6 weeks before the course start-date.
